Rugby World Cup 2011: England's Courtney Lawes cited

Courtney Lawes Lawes (left) tangles with Ledesma in Dunedin on Saturday

England's Courtney Lawes has been cited for allegedly striking Mario Ledesma with his knee during Saturday's 13-9 win over Argentina in Dunedin.
The 22-year-old will now have to appear at a disciplinary hearing in Auckland.
England manager Martin Johnson said: "We will of course provide rugby World Cup with any information required and attend the hearing as requested."
Lawes is alleged to have breached law 10.4(a), which concerns "punching or striking (with the knee)".
The Northampton forward was cited by match disciplinary commissioner Murray Whyte for his challenge on Ledesma near the end of the first half of England's World Cup Pool B win.
Sanctions for such a breach can range from three weeks to several months, though punishments are usually handed down in terms of matches at World Cups.
The hearing will be chaired by Terry Willis of Australia and the time and date of the hearing are due to be confirmed on Monday, UK time.
England's next match is against Georgia in Dunedin on Sunday and they are preparing for the match at their base in Queenstown.
Lawes was also involved in a controversial tackle on centre Gonzalo Tiesi. He hit the Argentina centre after he had kicked the ball, causing knee ligament damage that ruled the player out of the rest of the tournament.
However, he has not been cited for that incident.
